BANGKOK — Motorists will be treated to toll free expressways starting from midnight today until Jan. 3.

The exempted tollways include Burapha Withi Expressway (Bangna - Chonburi Expressway), Kanchanapisek Expressway (Bang Phli - Suksawat), Highway No. 7 (Motorway Bangkok - Chonburi) and Highway No. 9 (Motorway Bang Pa-In - Bang Phli).

What's the betting that all the ATMs run out of cash before lunch on the 1st.

Early bird gets the worm comes to mind

Chonburi and Bang Na freeways have been free for at least the past 4 years so good its the same again. With the amount of movement this time of year tailbacks would be horrendous if they wernt.

I transfered money from my KBank account to a BangkokBank account on Dec. 25 and was charged THB 120.00

Promises, promises...

That would not surprise me, since nobody truly reads things thoroughly. The promise of no fees is for "transfers" and not for withdrawals. Of course, many expats will run out of beer or bar fine money, go to the ATM and then come on here whinging about the Thais always lying, stealing, etc

Happy New Year !

The article clearly says Dec, 31 through Jan. 6. You were almost a week early, but don't let facts interfere with your whinging

How many transfers did you make? Since the standard fee is 30 Baht I'm guessing you made 4?

For every ray of light that shines and brings relief, some will find a dark cloud to block it out and cast the shadows of negative thinking.
