National Reform Steering Assembly calls on National Council for Peace and Order to restore the local election system

BANGKOK, 31 December 2015 (NNT) - NRSA spokesman Wanchai Sornsiri said on Wednesday that the reform assembly will likely be deliberate three urgent matters during its meeting on January 7 and 8, which are hoped to be completed within the next 18 months.

Mr. Wanchai said that the number-one agenda is the planning of honest and fair elections. The chairman of the subcommittee on political reform, Suchon Chaleekrua, has already been assigned to come up with suggested measures against all electoral frauds.

In achieving such a goal, he said that the NRSA will ask the NCPO to allow local elections to take place again so that they help test the reforms.

Mr. Wanchai added that the NRSA will also propose two urgent reform plans, including the measures to promote reconciliation and the follow-up on all NRSA’s recommendations related to the charter drafting.

After the play-elections, no doubt the NRSA will ask NCPO for permission to stage a coup against the elected local politicians, all to make it more realistic !!

>>Mr. Wanchai said that the number-one agenda is the planning of honest and fair elections. <<

What he really said: How can we manipulate the voting system to prevent the majority aka the reds from winning, so we "the good people" can keep our noses in the trough for another decade or two....................coffee1.gif

A new definition of urgent then, when urgent matters are "hoped to be completed within the next 18 months"

All roads lead to Bangkok. Can't see the balance of power shifting to local any time soon.

Careful, no one tells the NCPO what to do. A request can be looked at by the NCPO as a demand...careful NRSA and all other acronyms.

PTP don't support local elections for provincial governors. They prefer to place their own loyal lackeys in situ - easier to control and ensure the correct flow of funds.

Not exactly the great defenders of democracy and certainly not interested in transparency as they pretend.
