Massage on lower Suk Rd

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a place? We are staying soi 2. Given proximity to Nana I don't want to accidentally go to a place that offers extra services. Don't mind paying more for a nice clean place.

Many thanks

I'll reel out an early experience in Bangkok one more time. True story:

Arranging annual conferences for our Asia-Pacific division was an incidental part of my job, before I retired. 20 years ago in my early days of coming at least annually to bnagkok for that or other reasons I was holding a training conference in the Marriot on Sukhumvit at Asoke. I was very naive about Asia in those days - maybe an odd gawk in soi Cowboy - and asked a veteran of Bangkok (so I thought) where I could get a massage, but "no funny business".

He recommended any of the shops along Lower Sukhumvit where girls were not sitting outside accosting customers. Off I went and selected one. True enough I was invited to relax in a long chair and given a shoulder and leg massage and had a good conversation with a charming girl. After about 40 minutes she said "Upstairs please"! Why I asked? "Smoke" came the reply. "That's alright" I gave up cigarettes a few years ago. The girls in the parlour burst into fits of laughter. I sort of joined in when it was explained.

The story got me plenty of laughs when repeated from the conference lectern.

Did I go upstairs? What goes on tour ....

The basement of the Grace Hotel on Soi 3 used to have a massage place. No extras, all the staff were qualified with certificates on the wall, and some of the guys there were terrific if you liked a real hard rubdown. They sure knew what they were doing. But I haven't been in ages and don't know if it still exists. Give the hotel a call. If it's still there then definitely worth a visit.

Come to think of it, places inside decent hotels (Landmark, JW Marriott, ...) in the vicinity should all be extras-free.

If you want to stay in the Lower Suk area try Tarntip on Sukhumvit Soi 7/1. Legit massage shop on a naughty street: http://tarntipmassage-spa.com/contact.html

But if you want to go further afield Celfe on Soi 33: http://cefle-bangkok.com/?page_id=90

And Phunnee is a bargain @ 350b for a two hour Thai massage: http://www.bangkokpost.com/lifestyle/18639_info_phunnee-massage.html

Question:

There used to be a very very good massage shop in soi 22/sukh, cant remember the name, started with H though, big wooden building,

cheap cheap, mostly Thai customers, very few farang customers

When you walked down soi 22 from sukh you turned left into Washington Square,

and the shop/house was on your left after about 50 meters

Now Washington Square and surroundings is gone

some people has told me that the massage shop has moved to soi 33 somewhere, but they don't know where

anybody know what I'm talking about and where the shop can be found?

The place above Madam Saranair off Soi 19 is the cheapest around and definitely no extras.

Went with this place, no issues.

HOWEVER, if you were a solo male, looking for no extras, you'd be a bit worried... they carted us into the lift and up to the 4th floor to a private room (2 beds). My GF and I were laughing, but at one point we were a bit like "ehh, wonder how this is going to pan out".

And yes, certainly on a naughty street!!
