Visiting Thailand Just One Day Before Expiration Of Your Tourist Visa ?

Featured Replies

I applied for a Tourist Visa in Thai consulate and I got it. As I know it is valid for 3 months and has date of issue and date of expiration. My travel planes changed and now I will go to Thailand just one day before expiration day. Do I have to apply for a new visa or that one is still ok? Nobody will make any problems on the border because it is so close to expiration date?

You will have no problem whatsoever; one day after issue or one day before expiry are the same.

Enjoy your trip! :o

Not expired is not expired. You will receive your full sixty-day entry stamp when you arrive in Thailand.

Thank you,

I’m just confused because woman at the consulate told me that is so close to expire and maybe I will have some difficulties at the border. I said why if its one day before so it should be fine after that she said ok do as you like. And now I try to get some more info about that kind of situations. Because i think she has no idea about that.

The date on your visa is the last date you are allowed to enter the Kingdom. if you enter on or before this date you will be admitted and be allowed to stay the full stay that is normal for your country. For example I am from the USA. If I enter the last eligible day on a tourist visa I will be given 60 days of fun and sun. The lady from the consulate just wants another 25 bucks for her bosses drinking. But if for any reason you are delayed in transit and get to LOS after the date (even by a few minutes) you will only get a 30 day stamp. Good luck and enjoy.

Just remember that if coming from the US, you will arrive very late (almost midnight) one full day after you leave the US... Make sure that you have enough room / flexibility to cover things like your flight being delayed and arriving after midnight / the next day...
