Cambodian Information Minister meets with TVs representative over prime-hour broadcasting

PHNOM PEHN: Minister for Ministry of Information Khieu Kanharith this morning held a meeting with representatives from local television stations, aiming to remind them to start broadcasting Khmer dramas and Cambodian-entertainment programs on prime hours between 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

The Information Minister wanted local television stations to produce programs in related to Cambodia sports, dramas and other entertainment programs that show the Cambodia culture and tradition to improve the value of Cambodian movies and dramas.

All television stations will require to bring on air the Cambodian drama and other program locally produced in Cambodia from 1 January next year, and stop broadcasting on screens the foreign movies or programs on the prime-hour.

So far, there are 16 televisions based in Phnom Penh, and 59-relay broadcasting stations.
