January 10, 201610 yr Drove back to Global and was told " that is a model they will stop making the gas for in a few years so we gave you the new one which will have gas available in a few years". I dont care!! And in a few years your aircon will have a leak, after which you have to charge the refrigerant again that isn't available anymore, and the you will care. Is refrigerant gas changing that often? If your installation is top notch, refrigerant should never needed to be changed or topped up, but frequently the substandard installations in Thailand develop leaks
January 10, 201610 yr R22 cools much more than alternatives. You have new gas that mixes with r22. You can replace it with other compatible ozon friendly gases or mix. So dont worry. As long as theres old refrigerators in thailand you have original gas for your ac. Refrigerators don't use R22, aircons do. You are right. I was thinking of R-134A that can be used in both.
