Does it cost anything to transfer stamps to the new passport? I have heard that some office charge you now. Or is that just a scam? I have 1 year extension for retirement.

There is no official fee for the stamp transfer.

There have been reports of a few immigration offices charging a fee for it.

Just got it done in December no problem no fee.

It is free. If a particular immigration office ask for payment,request to speak with a supervisor to confirm that office's policy. Most likely it is a scam.
