18 people injured, including Chinese tourists, in bus crash off Phuket

The bus was taking Chinese tourists to Krabi airport when it crashed and flipped on Phetkasem Rd in Phang-nga.

PHUKET: -- 18 people were injured, including a number of Chinese tourists, when the bus they were travelling on crashed on Phetkasem Rd in Phang-nga last night (Jan 11). Police are still investigating to find the cause of the accident.

Russian man arrested off Phuket working as illegal tour guide

22-year-old Giorgiy Shokhadze was caught leading a group of tourists on a tour of Wat Suwan Khaha cave in Phang-nga.

PHUKET: -- A 22-year-old Russian man was arrested in Phang-nga yesterday (Jan 11) for working illegally as a tour guide when was caught taking 12 Russian tourists on a tour of the province’s popular Suwan Khuha cave tourist attraction.

PHUKET: -- Police are trying to identify the body of a man found washed up near rocks at Ao Makham in Wichit this morning (Jan 12). The body was found to have a severe slash wound to the neck when it was recovered.

Chiang Mai adventure-based tourism tipped to grow

CHIANG MAI, 12 January 2016 (NNT) - Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association President Pornchai Chitnawasatian disclosed that the number of Chinese tourists to the Thai northern city will not decrease by more than 10 percent throughout this year.


However, the numbers of tourists from other countries will continue to grow especially those from the United States and Japan, he said.

The tourism association chief said Chiang Mai will focus more on qualitative development of tourist industry by organizing tourism-related activities throughout the year with the newly-constructed tourist attractions.

For instance, adventure-based tourism at national parks in the province registered the highest growth last year.
