Junior doctors in England strike over government reforms

LONDON: --Thousands of junior doctors across England have staged their first strike in 40 years over government plans to reform pay and working conditions.

Doctors say the fatigue induced by the terms of a new working contract could put patients lives at risk.

The National Health Service (NHS), which delivers free care for all and accounts for a third of government spending on public services, is typically one of the most important issues for voters during elections.

The new contract is part of moves by the government to deliver what it says will be a consistent service seven days a week with studies showing mortality rates are higher at weekends when staffing is reduced.

The doctors’ union the British Medical Association (BMA) said the contract does not provide proper safeguards against doctors working dangerously long hours.

The union is planning another 48-hour stoppage later this month and a full withdrawal of labour, including emergency care, for nine hours on Feb. 10.

So, it's necessary to kill the patients in order to save them?

An immigration figure of over three hundred thousand certainly does nothing to help the situation regarding the NHS.

to be fair, I think I remember I have read somewhere that nearly or over half of UK NHS personnel are immigrants or "new British citizens".

regarding the strike, is there a law that exempts the NHS from general labor laws?

considering the need for saving money, couldn't doctors and nurses apply a reverse auctioning process to fill up work schedules?

Obviously, it's not. Do you think that the entire NHS medical staff consists of junior doctors?

Not so long back i was with a Girl who was a student Nurse in the UK. I went to her passing out, they get their Nursing Certificates ,Out of about 100, 10 had jobs to go to, the rest or most Emigrated to Australia , Canada, So its the Government who chose the cheaper option , Most of the foreign Doctors and Nurses cannot be understood, as for the Resent strike , The Government is going to Impose the changes on the Doctors anyway.
