Hi,

before I start to ask questions I shall give you some of my background.

I live in Thailand for 5 years now, I have a German passport and I am over 50 years old. So far I got three Non Immigrant Visa 0 (two in Munich one in Penang), I have a Thai drivers licence valid for fife years I own a car and rented a house (no Thai relationship). I recently did apply for Non Immigrant Visas in Bhutan, Osaka (Japan) and Manila. Nobody issued this kind of visa. In Manila they even would not give me a tourist visa without an official invitation from Thailand.

Where do I have to go to get a Non Immigrant Visa for one year with multiple entries? A tourist visa with singe entries does not help because I travel quite a lot.

How do I get a tourist visa in Manila, where do I get an invitation from Thailand for this?

If I have to go back to Germany for a visa do they require a statement from a Thai bank that I have more than 800.000.- baht in their account? In Munich it was enough to show a statement from a German bank.

In advance many thanks for your help and efforts.

Best regards,

The problem with Manila is they are treating people from "1st world nations" the same way they are treating Filipino nationals. I doubt you'd find them helpful in any circimstances.

If you want a regular Tourist Visa (60 days + 30 days extension) - you'd probably want to go to Penang, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. They normally issue Tourist Visa no problem.

If you want to have a Non-O or Non-B (multiple entry that is), I'd suggest you go in a "1st world country", one that is knowed to be particularly friendly to expats like Hull, UK.

Best regards,

Do it in Germany. Tell them you want to visit Thai friends and maybe learn Thai.

99% of the time they will not ask for Bank statements. You should be good to go.

Good Luck!

So why do not not make yourself legal with an extension of stay for retirement if you have the money to do so? You can obtain a multi re-entry permit that will allow unlimited travel for that one year extension of stay. The requirement is the 800k in a bank located here and could be reduced by pension/income verification.

You are very unlikely to obtain a multi entry O visa in the area. Believe Penang was the exception earlier (if you showed cash in Thai account) but believe they now have stopped.
