Hello everybody.

I'm about to finish my triple entry visa staying a total of almost 9 months in Thailand (excluding several trips outside of Thailand).

My visa was issued in Israel (Tel-Aviv/Hertzliya Thai embassy).

I have a trip planned back to Israel on the date my visa expires for about two weeks total stay in Israel and would like to come back to Thailand for another 9 months afterwards.

Since I'm not flying to Israel for a day, issuing a visa and coming back (I'm staying two weeks in Israel), Does Thailand see this as "Back-to-Back" ?

Do I have a good chance of getting a new Multiple Entry Visa ?

Thanks,

David

You not be able to get another 3 entry tourist visa since they no longer exist since the new multiple entry tourist visa (METV) became available.

The METV allows unlimited 60 day entries for 6 months. By doing an entry just before it expires you can get almost 9 months of total stay by extending the last entry for 30 days.

You should not have a problem getting one if you meet the requirements to get one. See here for info: http://www.thaiembassy.org/telaviv/en/services/685/17388-Visa-Information.html

2.1 Passport with 6 months validity
2.2 Israeli Permanent Residence Permit
2.3 Bank Statement with the balance of at least NIS 25,000
2.4 Letter of guarantee from employer
2.5 Confirmed flight ticket and hotel reservation

I don't see any issues with the requirements other then 2.4, which could be an issue as I do not have an employer. Should this be an issue ?

Not meeting one of these will have my application turned down ?

Even if I have sufficient funds to be unemployed ?

Yes that is possible and why you should ask the embassy what they will accept.

I would suggest you don't put unemployed on the application because one reason why they want proof of employment is that it demonstrates a reason for you to return home after your vacation. If you can afford not to work, and can show your sufficient funds to the embassy, they may well grant the visa but you'll have to ask.

Should I tell the embassy I am un-employed or should I just ask "If I have sufficiant funds, do I still need to show a letter from my employer ?"

I mean, it's kind of weird to ask for such a letter from an employer, which employer lets go of his employee for 9 months x 2 (this will be my second round) ??

If you do not have a job it will be difficult to hide that fact.

As others have suggested you needs to talk with the consular staff.

If you can prove you have adequate financial resource they may grant you a visa

How do digital nomads/self employed over the internet people manage this obstacle ?

I assume if you could show proof of a steady monthly income to them they might waive the letter from an employer. All you can do is ask them or try it.

Perhaps forming a company and running your money through it would work also be accepted.
