Las Vegas firm Switch to build largest data center in Thailand

Featured Replies

I will be interesting to see what form this business takes.

From the article, the only thing I see for sure is that Switch has set up a subsidiary (SuperNAP Thailand) to "build and operate the data center"...that does not necessarily imply ownership, although it very well could.

Also, the fact that Switch is based in Las Vegas does not mean that this data center foreshadows a casino (or casinos) popping up The Kingdom.

Switch provides data services to many Fortune 500 companies, such as eBay, Sony, and Google.

It looks to me like this is Switch's foray into the internationally-sited data center arena, with Kasikorn Bank and Siam Commercial Bank as customers from the start.

Man, these Vegas firms sure love to gamble...coffee1.gif

No, many in vegas dont gamble. actually vegas always plans on others to lose not hope to win. . Strategy that favors the odds. . I would rather have Supernap in charge of thailands information over corrupt politicians any day. Plus this means my friend gets to visit me. :)
