No, you just have to turn up and wait your turn.

As far as I'm aware you don't need an appointment for what you are doing ( converting your licence )

just turn up about 8 AM with your medical certificate,residence certificate,original drivers licence,passport.

If you want a motorbike licence you have to have that entitlement shown ( the little pictorial of bike )

on your UK licence or they will make you do the whole test for a bike.
