BANGKOK, 19 January 2016 (NNT) - The Education Minister has ordered all directors of the Teachers' Council of Thailand to report any potential obstacles to their assigned tasks before the end of this month.

Education Minister Gen Dapong Ratanasuwan delivered his 2016 policy address to the Teachers' Council of Thailand, instructing its directors to study their respective policies and identify any potential obstacles that stand between the success of each agenda before the end of this month.

The Teachers' Council has also been tasked with studying the benefits and drawbacks of a policy that requires teacher licenses to be renewed every five years based on performance.

The Education Minister said the evaluation will truly reflect the performance of government officials, adding that all civil servants must develop a system to complete their tasks effectively.

I'm sure the policy address could be condensed into a much simpler form,

" Don't worry about all the grandiose plans, brave words and fightin' talk as it's all BS, hot air and grandstanding. Nothing's going to change. "

So if you are a teacher in a Government School, not only will you have to pay fo get a job, but there will be a "top up fee" every 5 years!

Learning a foreign language is hard enough and the policy of removing foreign speaking teachers, bringing back 1000's of retired thai teachers will be an "OBSTACLE "

If the education system would like more thai's students to be able to speak english in its correct form,

"The Education Minister has ordered all directors of the Teachers' Council of Thailand to report any potential obstacles to their assigned tasks before the end of this month."

Like being grossly under qualified to teach anything.

Should generals be ministers of education?

Most generals in this country shouldn't even be generals...coffee1.gif

Disappointed: these education topics are usually belly laugh material. This one just felt like sitting in on a meeting of jabbering Thais. I suppose on the positive side it's nice to only dip one's toe into the waters of a fate worse than death.

I still have two pretty certificates, one in pink and the other in blue, proving I once survived such an ordeal.

Colours are important, you know.

First ting would be to completely remake the TCT as they are just a bunch of paper pushers that are making life more and more difficult for all teachers, Thais and foreigners alike... even most Thai teachers DON'T like TCT!!!

I took the now obsolete tests for people without teacher education in the past, they were organized and made by TCT, it was really just a mess! Many questions were simply translated with Google translate from the Thai version of the test and thereby just impossible to understand. Other questions was depending on the values of the writer of the question, I don't remember the exact words but these are the essence of some of the questions:

Who is the best teacher?
a. A teacher that is often absent from teaching because of other work for the school.

b. A teacher that donate a lot of money to the local temple.

c. A teacher that holds many tutorial classes on her free time.

d. A teacher that that is never absent form her class.
I did chose d. but that was wrong, the right answer is a. according to TCT...

You have a clock, a whiteboard and a desk in your room. According to what teaching methodology are you working?

I don't remember the answers but if anyone do know the correct answer to the question then please tell me because I don't have a clue!!!
