webfact Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Allegations of Child Abuse surround death of 2-year-old in East PattayaPATTAYA; -- On Thursday afternoon we attended the start of funeral proceedings for a 2-year-old boy who died whilst in the care of a family friend, however the Mother of the child believes they may have contributed to his death. We met with Khun Mairee aged 36 at the Nong Get Noi Temple in East Pattaya where the funeral for her son is taking place. She began by telling us that she worked at night and since November 2015 her child has been in the care of a local shopkeeper as she had no family members to call upon to babysit.Initially the child was being well cared for until Khun Mairee noticed bruises on her child’s body. Crucially she did nothing about the injuries and the shopkeeper claimed the child simply fell over by himself on numerous occasions.Full story: http://pattayaone.net/pattaya-news/220964/allegations-of-child-abuse-surround-death-of-2-year-old-in-east-pattaya/-- Pattaya One 2016-01-22
steven100 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 hmmmm .... the mothers suspicion may or may not be correct. A doctors report should give clearer answers.

casualbiker Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 The mother DID NOTHING after seeing bruising on her child.. <deleted>!
springheeled jack Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 it seems to me that the shopkeeper was the wrong person to look after a child and the mother should have made sure the child was looked after properly.
arminbkk Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 hmmmm .... the mothers suspicion may or may not be correct. A doctors report should give clearer answers. From the linked Pattaya One article: "After 3 days on a ventilator the child passed-away from a suspected brain bleed. A post-mortem examination concluded a sharp blow to the head caused the bleed and doctors also found a 7cm long chili in the child’s stomach." I'd say the above is at least suspect.
Basil B Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Why was the body released from the hospital and the police not informed, surly there should have been a full autopsy and investigation???
Jim walker Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 As soon as the first bruises appeared on the child alarm bells should have been ringing for the childs safety from the mother where he has been who was he with. and a change of job would have been more appropriate if she could not get a proper child minder organised for night work shifts would have thought the childs wellbeing and welfare would have been mothers first priority and as per usual no father about to do his share of upbringing for the little boy. Hope he is at peace now poor little soul and just a baby, there are some very seriously sick people in Thailand.
