October 18, 200619 yr Anyone Thai companies do reasonably priced dedicated servers, hosted in Bangkok? Just need a standard Intel machine with 512 MB RAM, smallish hard disk ok. Saw one for 5,000B per month, which is ok, but was hoping for something at around 4,000B i.e. just over $100 per month. Anyone paying around 4,000B for a dedicated server in BKK? Thanks,

October 19, 200619 yr I would have to doubt the reliability of such services, if they were available in Thailand at that price. I am not aware of any providers within your budget.

December 6, 200619 yr Do not ever host within Thailand. Check hosting in Malaysia or Sinagpore instead. I know Thaivisa is hosted in Singapore. For people who want to host a site for thais, but don't want to host in the US because of the limited international bandwidth, what are good options? Hosting in Thailand will get faster load times than the US, but is hosting in singapore or malaysia close to the same as thailand or still like hosting in the US?

All top Thai sites (for Thais) I know are hosted inside Thailand. You get excellent latency / load rates for traffic inside Thailand. But international visitors are penalized with much slower performance. If you host anywhere abroad, your Thai visitors will get slow performance, and it will be counted as international traffic.
December 7, 200619 yr Of course if you host outside of Thailand and don't put up 649,538 blinking <deleted>' banners and every flash object under the sun like typical Thai sites do on their front page, you can make up for that little extra latency. Edited December 7, 200619 yr by cdnvic

December 8, 200619 yr Author Why do you want to be in Thailand? The International bandwidth is cr*p and you will be strangled. Because I'm building Thai language sites for Thais aND what does that have to do with anything concerning the server ??? It's very simple. Nearly all my website viewers live inside Thailand. Having your server hosted in Thailand means all those users get very fast performance. If you host outside Thailand you get bandwidth-throttled performance because ISPs have to pay for international bandwidth. It isn't just a question of latency. There is also the issue that if your IP address is outside Thailand you don't get listed for "Thai Pages" searches at google. Not important for English-language sites like thaivisa, but a big penalty for thai language sites that are accessed via google.co.th. Finally, by having the IP outside Thailand, it might well affect SERPs for thai keywords you are targeting. And no, we aren't adding as many flashing objects as we can lay our hands on Edited December 8, 200619 yr by pete66
July 31, 200916 yr Hi, Did you find any good hosting company in Thailand, with servers in Thailand ? Do you also know any good one in Malaysia or Singapore ? It seems that international cables come to south east asia through Singapore, am I right ? But I don't know if if would be a lot better to host in US than Singapore if you want to serve Europe? Thanks. Edited July 31, 200916 yr by frenchFARANGbkk

Thanks. Try here for Malaysia: http://www.internet-webhosting.com/ Dedicated server for only USD89/mo. They speak English and have good support. They did have a crash about a year ago but since then, AFIAK, have been reliable.
