Need help on Marriage matters.

Featured Replies

Hi I am a Singaporean getting married to a Thai Spouse.

according to requirements and advised by the Singapore Embassy

I am require to get some documentation for my marital status and my spouse work status

and a certificate of clearance from the police in Singapore before I can send in

our application to register for our marriage in Thailand.

Now I have got all the required documents.

My question is where can I go and get the documents translated?

Does anyone have experience with this? Can someone send me to a

good translation agency that is recognised.

What are the costs?

are there any other things i need to take note of and prepare before

I go register?

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Are you sure of the process - the normal process is obtaining a signed letter from your Embassy in Bangkok and then having that translated into Thai by a registered translation service and recording with Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a legal document - then you and spouse visit a district office to register marriage - you with passport and that MFA copy of recorded letter and spouse with Thai ID.

I suspect your Embassy may require those documents from Singapore to issue the required letter.

I assume you now have an affirmation of permit to marry from the embassy now that will be needed at the Amphoe to register your marriage.. All the documents the embassy wanted was their requirements to get it from them.

The affirmation will need to translated to Thai and then certified by the consular affairs department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most offices can get do the translation and then get the certification done for you.

Here is a list of translators from the US embassy that can do it http://photos.state.gov/libraries/thailand/231771/acs/translators_internet_service_photographers.pdf
