BANGKOK, 26 January 2016 (NNT) - The Sri Lankan army chief has made an official trip to Thailand to discuss future military cooperation.

Srilankan Chief of Defence Staff ACM Kolitha Gunathilake is visiting as a guest of the Royal Thai Armed Forces. He is scheduled to stay in Thailand to discuss possible cooperation with his Thai counterpart, Gen Sommai Kaotira, until tomorrow.

ACM Kolitha also had an opportunity to conduct an in-ranks military inspection upon his arrival to the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. Both countries are expected to share intelligence and hold a joint military training program.

The Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff has expressed his gratitude towards the Royal Thai Armed Forces for the invitation to observe the Cobra Gold military exercise in Thailand. He also insisted that the Sri Lankan Army is ready to cooperate with Thailand in every capacity.

"He also insisted that the Sri Lankan Army is ready to cooperate with Thailand in every capacity."

Like killing peaceful demonstrators, torturing anti-government activists, disappearing people etc?

We have all heard the expression " If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck "

but the Thai military ?, dresses like military, struts like military but ...................

I am sure they are exchanging the spirit-god dolls. clap2.gif

Since neither Thailand nor Sri Lanka have any real ability to project military power beyond their own boundaries, it's largely meaningless.

Brilliant job title isn't it Supreme Commander? But then I read on and saw Sri Lanka., and was a little less impressed. It's like having your own business with you as the only employee and having President, CEO and Chairman as your title on your business card.
