January 26, 201610 yr I'm taking some of the extended family kids to the cinema this weekend (yep, I drew the short straw). Where can I find details of the films/times for this Saturday and Sunday? (I'll be taking them to see Thai movies). How about the film age ratings? How strictly are these enforced? (So maybe there is a 15+ rating, but will a 14 year old be allowed in or do will they have to show ID cards?)
January 26, 201610 yr Try http://booking.sfcinemacity.com/ For showtimes Or http://www.sfcinemacity.com For movie info
January 26, 201610 yr Author Thanks DrWatsOn - but am I correct that the website you reference only shows movie details for today and tomorrow? I couldn't find any link to what's on this weekend.
January 26, 201610 yr Yes, sorry about that - it appears to only show a few days out. Perhaps check again closer to the weekend if you haven't found another solution? As sebastion mentioned, the app works well also if you have a smartphone or tablet but I think it's limited to the same time frame.
January 26, 201610 yr Try this page for "coming soon" - about half way down the page http://www.sfcinemacity.com/index.php/en/home/highlight It includes new releases that come out on Thursday - I think it's safe to assume they will be playing over the weekend. Hope you find what you're looking for and enjoy the movies with the kids!
January 26, 201610 yr New movies always come out thursdays (ignoring sneak previews) and that's when they publish the new schedule for that week. To see what movies will definitely play (but not at what times) you can check the aformentioned "coming soon" page. It gives you dates. They don't publish the schedule before thursday because they have to take the current weeks performance into account when deciding what movies to keep showing and how many screenings.
January 26, 201610 yr ^^^They never ask for ID (age). New movies and schedule will be out Thursday morning. Check that ^^ website then. January is a tough month for good movies. Can you sing and dance? Edited January 26, 201610 yr by Shot
January 27, 201610 yr Author Can you sing and dance? Well yes I can, since I work as a primary school teacher between my hotel work But I don't think a bunch of 14-year olds would appreciate my efforts... It looks like there is a Thai comedy 'The Boxer' out from the 28th. That might fit the bill
January 27, 201610 yr Went to Central Festival last Sunday to watch Awasan Lok Suay with my wife and her 19-year old daughter. Of this movie there is a 18+ and a 20+ version. We were there around 19.00 which left us with the 20+ version as only option as that started 20.10. No way they would let the daughter in. ID-cards are thoroughly checked at the entrance. Can imagine that they "never ask for ID" to quote Shot when you are foreigner and/or you are obviously well over the required age limit. Also do not know if enforcement is less strict in Jung Ceylon. January 27, 201610 yr ^^Fair enough. I can only vouch for PG-13 and taking in younger than that at both Central and Jungceylon. I didn't know there was such a thing as 20+. Come to think of it, an 11 year old going in to a PG-13 with an adult may not be require to be 13???
January 28, 201610 yr Neither did I but the 20+ version is 4 minutes longer than the 18+ version. Must be 4 minutes full of erotic scenes, drugs, guns and blood that is too much for a 19-year old to coop with but okay for a 20-year old. Actually now I am curious.
