I miss bagels,

and to be more specific, I miss Montreal bagels,

and to be even more specific I miss Fairmont bagels.

The Amazing Sandwich has bagels. So has the cramped little shop in that little parking lot area at Thapae gate where Kotchasarn road starts before you get to Arun Rai. Not specifically recommending the latter, but do have a go at the former.

Kasems store on nimenhamen has great fresh baked bagels all flavors check em out!

I miss the "rule of law" and good, honest, Pommie coppers and the UK's consumer laws. so there!

In 10 years of driving in Chiang Mai I only received one ticket.. (This was while parking for 20 seconds outside the Kasem store.. a notorious spot. I'm sure I'm not the only one caught there.. Anyway.. 100 baht... That's pretty much what the regular parking fee is in London!! ;-)

If they know you are shopping in Kasem Store, they shouldn't be bothering you. I often go there after 4 pm (boot time), and if the cop is there, he is always waved off by Mae Kasem or one of her kids. Mae Kasem provides food goodies to the cops year round for some consideration for her customers....
