Consignment Shops In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any consignment stores in Bangkok. I was given a lovely designer dress from London that unfortunately doesn't fit and was hoping to try selling it. If you know of any such shops, could you please pass on some location/ contact information?

Cheers

Believe it or not the AWC (American Women's club) has a thrift store which, according to their website, takes donations or consignment.

Thrift Shop

MONDAY: Receiving and payouts,

9:30 a.m.–Noon

WEDNESDAY: Selling to members and the public, 9:30 a.m.–Noon

The Thrift Shop invites all AWC members to help us support Thai charities by bringing in your secondhand items as donation or consignment goods. We accept clothing, shoes, books, kitchenware, small appliances, linens, decorative items and toys. In addition to these items, we are always in need of your extra shopping bags and hangars, both regular and clip hangars.

All AWC members in good standing are eligible to assign items to the Thrift Shop. Please make sure that all your consignment items are marked with your Thrift Shop number. Do not use pins or staples as this will damage the items. All consignment items (with the exception of books) should be marked with your number on the label or with an adhesive white sticker. Books should be marked with your number on the first righthand page in the upper right corner.

There is a one-time donation of 100 baht to open a Thrift Shop account. Due to the timing required to completely cycle items, you must have at least 3 months left on your AWC membership to assign consignment items and to collect payouts.

Help Wanted: Looking to make a difference this year? Consider volunteering with the AWC Thrift Shop. Do you know that we contributed 400,000 baht to the operation of the AWC and Community Projects Committee projects this past year? Join us and be a part of the giving. We meet on Monday mornings to sort and price items, and on Wednesday mornings for sales to the public and the AWC. If you can spare some time to help us either morning, or hopefully both, you can make a huge difference in helping us help the AWC and Thai community.

I appreciate your suggestion, unfortunately it sounds like you need to be a AWC member, which I'm not. Thanks for the reply anyway.

  • 1 month later...

Hmm - I have some things as well that I have been wanting to get rid of. Maybe we could organise an afternoon where we bring things along and check them out.... buy/swap/sell - an idea (not necessarily a good one...)

why not try BNOW? Bangkok Network of Women? They will let you put a free ad on their weekly newsletter. im sure you would get some buyers there.
