Legal charges to be filed against former advisor to Marketing Organization for Farmers

Suwit Rattiwan

BANGKOK, 30 January 2016 (NNT) – Royal Thai Police are investigating “Dejcharas Charnrat”, also known as “Dr. Dej”, former advisor to the director of the Marketing Organization for Farmers (MOF), who allegedly used the name of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to make money by selling the government’s rice.

Police are now interviewing witnesses and victims of a rice scam allegedly orchestrated by Dr. Dej and three of his subordinates. The four accused perpetrators were arrested at a restaurant near Phra Nang Klao Bridge. The former advisor to the MOF was later released from jail on bail.

According to the police, Dr. Dej and his entourage used the name of the NCPO and the name of Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan to sell 300,000 tons of substandard rice stored in government’s warehouses.

The crime was committed on January 27th during the prime minister’s visit to the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School.

Now I wonder what kind of punishment will the guy face who ordered the army and police to protect the interest of the developer. Inactive post again?

"According to the police, Dr. Dej and his entourage used the name of the NCPO and the name of Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan to sell 300,000 tons of substandard rice stored in governments warehouses."

Dr. Dej, the ultimate definition of stupid, stupid, stupid.

If he did this of course.

"The former advisor to the MOF was later released from jail on bail."

and is well on his way to Singapore if he has half a brain.

What exactly is the scam is other than an unauthorized reference to the NCPO?

Did the MOF have the right to sell the rice?

It seems the NCPO has been obstructuve in the sale of any of the rice accumulated under Yingluck's rice pledge program as such sales would only legitimize its value that the NCPO deems worthless.

The biggest question for me is who bought 300.000 tons of crap rice .hope they dont want their money back.

regards Worgeordie
