Change Non-O to Non-B

Featured Replies

Hello,

Is it possible to change a Non-O marriage to a Non-B visa within Thailand?

Kris

Normally it is not required as work permits/extensions are often issued on a non immigrant O entry for those married. Or are you getting divorced? Believe new visa would require trip outside Thailand with paperwork to obtain if required.

The class of a non immigrant visa cannot be changed. It can only be changed by going out for a new visa.

The reason for an extension of stay can be changed. For example from marriage to working or vice versa.

It is also possible to apply for a an extension of stay based upon working of an entry from a non-o visa. But it can depend upon the reason the non-o visa was issued for.

So here is the background to my current situation.

I originally got the Non-O marriage visa because I didnt have the document from Krusapa to extend my Non-B. So, I left the country came back in on the Non-O and planned to extend that to 1 year this month. However due to a big F-up on my part my bank balance dropped below 400k and now they won't issue the 1 year extension right?

I do now have the document from Krusapa so contemplating the idea of going back to a non-B?

If i apply for a 60 day extension on the non-0 (to give me 2 more months for the 400k to si in the account), can i then apply for the 1 year extension at the end of that 60 day extension?

any advice is greatly appreciated!

If the balance in the account drops one satang below 400k baht during the 2 month they can refuse to accept the application. There have been people refused because the annual fee for a ATM/debit card was taken out during the 2 months.

You can apply for the one year extension at the end of the 60 day extension since it extends the non-o visa entry you have now.

If you plan to use the 400k and only need to extend yes the 2 month extension should do the trick.
