Filipina And Uk National Married in Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a Question Regarding Legalization of Thai Wedding Certificates,

My Filipina Wife and me Got married in Thailand this Jan 2016, Both of us don't Live in Thailand though, She lives still in the Philippines and I'm also working abroad currently in Germany. Unfortunately we didn't manage on time to have our Documents Translated and Certified by the MFA and we are both back home again now..

Now the question arises How can we register a Thai Wedding Certificate in the Philippines and not at the Embassy (incl. Translation)? and how to apply for a new Passport in her married Name once that has been done? Anyone have Experience with This?

You could arrange for the translation and certification by the MFA by sending a copy of your marriage certificate to a translation service here. Most translation services could do it after you make payment arrangements with them.

You could also get the certification done at a Thai embassy or consulate.

I am not familiar with the requirements to get the name change done in the Philippines.

Does it mean the MFA only does certification for the translated document rather than the original marriage certificate? unsure.png

It would be considered both by most authorities when it is submitted to them.
