February 5, 201610 yr If Khon Kaen has been declared a drought affected zone, why are fire trucks still watering central reservations in the road! Why has there been no hose pipe ban, or car wash ban etc? These are automatic in UK once drought declared. Simple measures, but effective.

Because the things you mention are what civilized, thinking countries do. But we're talking about Thailand here, so it doesn't apply.
February 5, 201610 yr The best investment I ever made for this village house (this area is ghastly for water supply) was a 2000 litre water tank (5000 Baht) on a ball valve and a Hitachi constant pressure water pump (5500 Baht).
February 5, 201610 yr Wait till you see the huge wastage at Songkran; hoses connected to taps running into the gutter etc
February 5, 201610 yr The water used by cities to water the greenery in public areas is usually pumped out of klongs that are full of raw sewage. That water would not be used as drinking water or as irrigation water. It can only safely be used for growing non-edible plants and so its use or non-use will not affect the drought situation anyway.
