Pramote Promin, spokesman for the Internal Security Operation Command, or ISOC, discounted as an attempt to discredit Thailand. The report details the use of techniques including waterboarding, electric shock, detaining suspects in a cold room, forcing water into the mouth, forced removal of all clothes, chemical injections with psychological effects, forced drinking of urine, hooding suspects with plastic bags and forcing suspects to do things that are against their religious beliefs. Rorri
No torture, only some serious "attitude adjustments." Saying no torture carries as much credence as saying no corruption, and no one believes that.
Krataiboy
We know how good the Thai forces of law and order are beating confessions out of people. Otherwise, why would the US, which uses waterboarding and other brutal "enhanced interrogation" techniques, send obstinate terrorist suspects to the Land of Smiles to get their tight lips unsealed? yardrunner
Who cares if criminals who kill innocent people are tortured. and does that mean that anyone who is suspected of any offence Is guilty, I prefer innocent until proven guilty and torture does not work it has been proved that people will say anything to stop being tortured so any evidence gained by torture is not credible evidence
dcpo
Who cares if criminals who kill innocent people are tortured. The first problem with torture is that the 'information' it produces is usually not reliable. The second problem is that if you have the wrong person, which you often will if you're using torture to get your information, then you're torturing an innocent person. The third problem is that if you're torturing people, innocent or not, then you pay significantly in goodwill from their communities.
SOUTHERNSTAR
Who cares if criminals who kill innocent people are tortured. They are not guilty of anything until proven so in a court of law. If you don't believe this you don't believe in justice and the rule of law.
