bongojules
Hello, My 30 day visa exemption is due to expire tomorrow and I just wanted to double-check that it's still going to be possible to go to the immigration office tomorrow and extend by another 30 days? Many thanks, Jules
elviajero
Yes, as long as you apply before your current 30 day stay expires you will get a 30 day extension. FYI, you can apply a week or so early and don't need to wait until the last day. The extension will start from the end of the current stay regardless of how early you apply. KhunBENQ
The extension is granted on the spot. So no reason why not. Hurry up.

Last week at Jomtien, my friend, who has a tourist visa, applied for a 30 day extension. He was told he was too early and told to come back not more than 3 days early. Generally for the shorter term extensions, applications are accepted during the week before the current permission to stay expires. Maybe at this time of the year Jomtien is swamped by applications for extensions for those on tourist visas and visa exempt entry. Annual extensions can be applied for 30 to 45 days before expiry, depending on the office used.
