Court rejects call to revoke tennis association’s resolution

BANGKOK: -- The Nonthaburi provincial court on Tuesday rejected a petition for the court to revoke the resolution of the Lawn Tennis Association endorsing the election of the new president of the association.

The petition was submitted to the court by Pol Lt Danai Udomchoke, former Thailand’s Number 1 tennis player and president of Chuanchuen tennis club.

Danai told the media that the court rejected his petition because it was unnecessary as the Lawn Tennis Association had not endorsed the election result which saw Mr Sombat Oemmongkol won the election as the new association’s president.

Also, the court pointed out that the Sports Authority of Thailand was authorized to approve or disapprove the election result.

Danai said he was satisfied with the court’s ruling and expected the Sports Authority of Thailand to consider the issue carefully.
