Hello. Can some one please confirm the annual fee for renewing the Non Imm o Visa based on marriage to a Thai wife.

I ask because myself and others in Samui are paying 5,000 Baht. Friends I talk to in other areas of the country seem to be paying 1,900. I have searched web sites and everything seems to suggest a fee of 1,900.

I would like to question this with Samui immigration but owing to the present situation I dont think that would be a good idea.

Maybe I am wrong. I am sure Lopburi or someone will know.

Many thanks.

A new visa, muli entry non immigrant based on having a Thai spouse would likely cost 5,000 baht equivalent at a Consulate. It should not be available from an Immigration Office at any price AFAIK.

An extension of stay based on having a Thai spouse, using the required paperwork of bank/income and visiting immigration to file a TM.7 form costs 1,900 baht for a one year extension.

Believe we are talking apples and oranges?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am talking about 1 year extension at the immigration office using the bank acc and filing the form TM.7. 5,00 Baht and do not get a reciept. I am not the only one, hopefully another member will respond to this.

The cost is 1,900 baht.

When I last when to Bangkok immigration there were signs saying not to pay more the the official visa fee. I think that I now understand why they felt this was necessary

The multiple entry permit which I think many purchase at the same time is an additional 3800 Baht - can this be reason? Cheers!

No. Single entry TM7. extension renewal 5,000 Baht. No reciept

Any more Samui members out there that can confirm.?

Many thanks

I have just extended my 'thai wife' visa for 1 year here in Bangkok and can confirm that the cost is 1900Baht.

Thank you everyone so far for confirming what i thought.

No wonder the Samui immigration officials always seem to be smiling. (allegedly)

I know my renewal is a few months off yet but if I am asked again for 5,000 Baht fee what are my options bearing in mind my application would probably be turned down if I did not act with discretion.

Thanks

Thanks

1) Record the conversation

2) Ask for a receipt, but don't push it when they refuse

3) Pay the B5k they asked for

4) Send the recording, name of the officer and any other info to BKK immigration

5) Be prepared to go to BKK for your next renewal :o

Good idea then I can spend the 3,100 Bht I save on the fare to BKK.

Thanks for the reply. I think I and others with this predicament are snookerd

No Was really waiting for any other Samui members to add a few comments. Just to show that it is real and I am not wrong in my reading of the situation.

The application fee of 1,900 Baht is printed on the application form TM.7

If you are asked to pay a higher amount, wouldn’t it suffice to point to it on the form?

An additional idea is to store the phone number of the Immigration Bureau Head Office, 0-2287-3101-10, on your mobile phone before you go to apply for your extension in Samui. If the official insists on a higher fee than 1,900 Baht you can say you are confused and would like to call somebody for advice. Then dial that number, explain the situation and ask if the fee for the TM.7 has indeed been increased from 1,900 Baht to 5,000 Baht.

Thank you. You are right I just downloaded the TM.7 form and it does in fact state the fee of 1,900.

Will take your advice next time. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me and have a nice evening.
