Fire at foam factory in Samut Sakhon

BANGKOK: -- A huge fire broke out before dawn today at a sponge foam factory in Samut Sakhon province, causing damages estimated at over 10 million baht to the factory, foams and machinery.

The fire was reported at the Sapsin Phet Co’s factory on Klong Siwa road in Muang district at about 3 am.

Alerted fire engines arrived but could hardly put the fire out in time due to the flammable materials stored at the factory.

The fire raged for an hour before the whole factory building was burnt to the ground.

Two pickup trucks parked inside were also damaged in the fire.

Factory owner Ms Nichisa Papet said no workers were in the factory when an explosion was hurt and the factory caught fire.
