We are looking to buy a cat or a dog, still haven't decided on this one. It really depends on what we can find. Is there any websites or facebook groups in Thailand that post ads for pets for sale? If you know any can you please post them here, I would be very grateful.

Live in small town and remote area so there isn't much around here.

CareforDogs and SoiDogs both have their own websites.

Ask also about dog pounds in many major towns (in Isaan at least) which have hundreds of dogs needing homes.

Buriram had 700 dogs, last time I heard, and you should find a nice dog among them. Remember, in the best families it's the dog which makes the choice of owner, not the other way round!

If you're not after a pedigree breed, then most rural areas will probably have more than their fair share of unwanted puppies and kittens. They should be free too. You just need to ask around.

If its the dog then it would be great to have it growing up with us from the start. The ones looking into are Husky or Labrador or golden retriever.

If cat the are looking at Russian Blue because its the only cat that does not affect people with allergies.

my avatar is our boy a rescue'd dog of 1yr.tyr and read my posting in this forum,he is lucky i am with him 24/7 and they take alot of looking after.

if you got the time read up on the joy,dangers,heartbreak,and vets.

husky's have double coats and are not suitable for these tempreture's.more suited to -30.

I'm a cat dude, and for kittens there are a million in your local town or village, all I would ask is that (and this goes for all) please get it spayed/neutered.

Thai's seem to have zero interest in keeping their pets healthy and happy, and not letting them breed constantly is part of that....OK done with my soapbox rant

You made a good decision, you won't be disappointed, they're wonderful dogs. I raised them in the US and here. At one time I had 23 all born and raised in the house. My Avatar, Joey, died 3 years ago and my last one, Kiji, died last June. I now have 8 Thai mutts but have thought about getting another Golden. Please PM me with the contact details.
