farangene
Looking for a Bangkok dentist or surgeon (an implantologist) who specializes in dental implants. While I am not looking for the cheapest, can you recommend a doctor who does not gouge foreigners to do the implants?
Jiu-Jitsu
If you don't mind travelling, I can recommend Ms Suwangatte, the Implantologist at Phyathai Sri Racha. Prices reasonable and many years of experience as an implantologist. You can make an appointment directly or choose to go through their Imternational Marketing Executive here I appreciate it's a longer journey, but I did a lot of research before deciding and went for it in place of what was on offer at the time in Bangkok. BobTH
I just got an implant on the 19th of February, I went yesterday to have the stitches removed and I am very happy with the work done by this implantologist that studied at UCLA in California. The total cost for everything including the crown was 45,000 baht. I was going to have it done at the Faculty of Dentistry Chulalongkorn University for 40,000 baht but I changed my mind on the recommendation of this doctor. The clinic location is on Soi Suanplu not far off of Sathorn Road. If you would like the phone number you can message me for the information and name. The procedure was almost painless in a very professional and clean environment.
sunnyjim5
The American Dental Association does not recognise any one specific field of dentistry as the "implant specialist"; rather any licensed dentist is permitted to perform implant surgery. It would seem that personal recommendation should be valued above a rather imprecise "label"
Sheryl
Dentists (and doctors) in Thailand do tend to specialize and it is advantageous to use a dentist who primarily does implants Wherever you have it done, it will be costly - the main cost being from the implant itself. A number of TV members have had dental implants, suggest you do a search for "dental implant" in this forum

Having also recommended her on here for several years, I do so again. A good job for a fair price. I have several PMs from forum members thanking me for the recommendation. Yes. Definitely use a specialist for implants, and not just a general dental clinic of which there are many in Pattaya. Implants here may be costly but at 40,000B (which is what I paid each for my three) they still come in at well under half the price they would be in Europe (not including the discount Eastern Europe dentists who are probably best avoided). And now I'm not even aware that the teeth are not my own.
alecko19
I'd recommend Dr. Sunisa of Bangkok Smile. Although my treatment was for general dentistry with them, my friend who recommended the clinic actually had her implants done there. She spoke highly of their quality of work and i could attest to that, had my fillings done with the warmest most friendly way (totally painless) and the cost was very affordable compared to my hometown in Switzerland. What's best is that i was even able to do my free consultation back home in their website. A lot of my friends and relatives already thanked me for referring the dentist and the clinic, so i guess they're still doing a great job there. PomRakBKK
I just had 2 root canals and 3 zirconium dental implants done. Total price was 8,000 baht for the cast to make the implants and 108,500 for the procedure. Very happy with the outcome. Was one of those 'beauty clinics' with branches all over Bangkok. The whole procedure was painless and took about an hour. If anyone wants the name of the clinic please PM me. taxout
You'll need to wait a few years to be reasonably confident those implants are successful.

The whole procedure was painless and took about an hour. If you had three implants done in an hour then they must have been "instant" implants. My dentist back in Europe advised me very strongly against having anything to do with those. A proper implant takes 3 months or more. Also the total price seems unreasonably low for Thailand. As for considering a "beauty clinic" for this sort of highly specialised and potentially dangerous job, are you out of your mind?
