October 24, 200619 yr Has anyone had experience with different methods of shipping small packages from the US East Coast to Chiang Kham (or surrounding regions)? Methods under consideration are US Postal Service, UPS, Fed Ex... suggestions welcome. A friend in Virginia wants to send a small package (under 5 kg) to me here in Chiang Kham, and he is concerned about light fingers along the route. His experience is from Africa. Cost is a factor, but not as important as security. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! Dave
October 25, 200619 yr registered mail that requires a signature on delivery... the best is to use fed ex dhl or etc and insure it... though i believe that if you insure it for too much it becomes suspect somehow... contact fed ex or dhl office in bangkok they should know, but you are right, things dissapear in the thai mail system...
October 26, 200619 yr I think there is a fed ex or UPS in Chiang Kham. I will be moving close to there next month. It is in the center of town not far from Bangkok Bank.

To whom it may concern: Khun Taai and Khun Tawann of the beautiful modern internet shop across of the First Church in the middle of Chiang Rai are running the local UPS office. Yes, it is the shop where you also can buy excellent bread, pate etc etc. And, of course, where you can buy air tickets for Air Asia, OneTwoGo and other companies. At your service, Limbo
