Actor George Kennedy, star of Naked Gun, dies aged 91

BOISE, Idaho: -- US actor George Kennedy, who starred in movies including Cool Hand Luke and the Naked Gun series, has died at the age of 91, his grandson has announced.

Cory Schenkel said his grandfather died on Sunday morning in the city of Boise, Idaho, celebrity news website TMZ reported.

Kennedy won an Oscar in 1968 for Best Supporting Actor in Cool Hand Luke.

My favorite George Kennedy line from 1965 version of The Flight of the Phoenix, when trying to start the rebuilt aircraft's engine after crash landing in the African desert:

"There ain't nothing wrong with that engine -- maybe he ain't givin' it enough juice."

RIP, but he had to be one of the biggest hams in Hollywood.

R.I.P. to a good supporting actor. Some of his lines were so corny that you got a good laugh.

RIP. Good memories.

I'll bet nobody except me remembers Pink Jungle. James Garner's character upon seeing George Kennedy's for the first time, "that looks like an advertisement for an atrocity commercial."

He was always one of the good "bad Guys" in Saturday morning westerns.

2016 really has to slow the #$%@ down!

His character in Cool Hand Luke was as good as Paul Newman's. Kennedy was believable as a human Foghorn Leghorn.
