Entering Thailand on a visa excempt in BKK my mate was asking if better to make a re-entry permit

He was planinig casino day out at Poipet. Making a Cambodia visa online from what I see he will not be allowed back in to Thailand the same day.

#1 With a re-entry permit would he be allowed back in the same day.

#2 is it possible to use re-entry permit on a visa excempt.

He has

UK passport not a frequent traveller probably 5 one week visits per year never been on a land crossing. Only a tourist wanting a casino day out.

He will not need a re-entry permit. He can get a new 30 day visa exempt entry when he enters Thailand.
