BANGKOK: -- The alumni of Kasetsart University’s faculty of forestry will wear black at their reunion at the faculty Friday as a gesture of protest against what they allege as unfair appointment of 18 directors at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Mr Kasemsant Jinnawaso, permanent secretary of natural resources and environment, recently signed the appointment of 18 directors for provincial offices of natural resources and environment.

Of the 18 new directors, 10 of them were graduated from a forestry school in Phrae province and the rest graduated in the fields of environment and biological health with none from the forestry faculty.

Reacting to the appointments, the forestry alumni association pointed out that it was unprecedented that not a single alumnus from the forestry faculty of Kasetsart University was appointed the director.

The association planned to lodge a complaint with General Surasak Kanchanarat, minister of natural resources and environment, to protest what they alleged as unfair appointments.

Perhaps they bought their appointment, Just maybe.

Unfair appointments in LoS ?

NO NEVER, I'm not buying that.

What's "fair" in Thailand aka Land of Scams; Lack of Sanctions?

People here don't mind nepotism when they're on the receiving end. Nor do they complain about rampant corruption when - again they can benefit. So where exactly can this "fairness" be found?

Maybe the masses will on day "wake up" but doubt it.

Sounds very typical i doubt they will get anywhere with this complaint the deals already done.

Sounds like someone did not have a big enough envelope.

Students have before and not only related to Thailand other countries as well, protested about appointments , and who better to judge than the students ,me being polite by nature , there's more than what meets the eye in this one..............................................coffee1.gif
