Expecting a baby next month. Wife has had a child before but basically living in the forest and after breast feeding the baby's food was soft rice pre chewed by the mother. Hard to imagine!

This time she has a condition and the baby will be on formula. Can anyone give me a broad run down / timeline on whats normally required?

I've had 4 kids myself but was a long time ago and memory faded haha

eg: 0-3 months formula only

4-6 months formula and juice

6-9 months introduce mashed solids

Also what apart from the obvious should we have ready for the baby returning from hospital?

Already have Snugglers (nappies), bottles, formula, cot and bedding, pram, car seat, baby wash, bath, towel, bottle brush, sterilizer, clothes of course

Any help appreciated.

We used the formula only until 4 month but then started with mashed food, like banana mixed with rice, pumpkin soup, etc. just a bit and always depending on our little ones. Our Doctor even recommended it.

From 6 month onwards we introduce one meal per day.

Usually something mashed (potatoes, pumpkin, fish with rice, etc.)

Get some BPA free bottles and be mindful of the formula. Some tend to leave the babies constipated. We tried some, but ended up with NAN from Nestle. Sadly there was not a different one our little ones tummy was happy with.

Did you buy a car seat or an infant seat? You should leave him in the infant car carrier as long as possible as it is protecting is back the most.

You might want to consider a small bath tub, which can be put on a table. Easier to handle and clean the little one with.

Get some lotion like Eucerin to moisturize his skin and some nappy cream in case his bud is getting red or having a rash.

Otherwise it looks like you are mostly set. Therefore try to relax and go with the flow. You will make a lot of small runs to the store as you might have forgotten something, which you require.

Enjoy.
