Tripsev Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 hi a newbie question here if i travel into thailand and stay just a day or two on a tourist 30 day visa, then i go visit hong kong for a few days, then back to thailand again, will i have to do anything special or pay any fees to get back into thailand for the rest of my stay or can i come and go as i please. thanks
WilliamIV Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) Might depend on what passport you are holding Are you sure you have a Tourist Visa They are usually for a stay of 60 days (but it seems some passports are now restricted to an initial 30) Advice would really depend on how long you wish to stay on your subsequent visit. If you DO have a 60 day tourist visa you might wish to preserve the rest of your 60 days with a re-entry permit. If you really mean you are entering on a Visa Free 30 days then the new restrictions on these are the subject of many other posts - just browse around Edited October 25, 2006 by WilliamIV
Tripsev Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 yea m8 browsed around plenty, made no sense, ill have another go 30 day free visa is what i meant obviously or i wouldnt have said 30 days now would I
lopburi3 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 30 day entry is not a visa entry but an entry without visa. If you are from one of the countries allowed this entry you receive the 30 days each time you enter - when you leave it ends. When you enter again you receive a new 30 day entry. Under the new rules you can enter this way until you have used 60 days in a six month period and any entry after that will be limited to a total of 90 days and at that point you will not be allowed to enter again using visa free entry. Only time will tell if it really works as we expect but by early December we should have a good feel for it.

Depends on which passport you are holding Despite the advice given in the Instructions for posting which you chose to ignore about telling us which passport you are holding The fact is that some Passport holders are being given an initial 30 day stay on a Tourist visa - you said Tourist visa - so how were we to know that you are not one of them ???
