DSI officials to question Somdet Chuang on March 16 over vintage Mercedes



BANGKOK: -- Officials from the Department of Special Investigation will question Somdet Phra Maharatchamangalacharn or Somdet Chuang on March 16 at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen regarding the vintage Mercedes Benz.

The officials will be led by Pol Lt-Col Somboon Sarasit, deputy director-general of the DSI.

The interrogation will take place at the temple at about 8 pm because Somdet Chuang, the abbot of the temple, will be free.

Earlier, the DSI ruled that the vintage Mercedes kept at the temple’s garage as part of Somdet Chuang’s collection of vintage cars was not properly registered and the engine and some major auto parts used to assemble the car were illegally imported.

The owner of the Vicharn Garage which maintained the car was sued by Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen demanding 10 million baht in compensation.

That's because they are not aiming at the point.

You might as well ask why all the Admirals and Generals in the Inner circle are so unusually rich. Lots of people, including monks, have wealth well above their apparent ability to amass it. At least a religious figure is likely to have come by his wealth by people voluntarily giving money - for whatever reason, rather than by stealing it from the public coffers.

I wonder about the origin or meaning of the 3 colors on the Thai flag are? To control a Mercedes takes good driving skills to steer it safely through traffic. To have full control of a vehicle all obsticles in its way can be avoided.
