I was wondering if anyone has had any success getting the new 90-day tourist visa's in Vientiane? What documentation is necessary? What is the turn around time?

There is no "new" 90 day tourist visa. A tourist visa is always valid for use within 90 days and it provides a 60 day stay that can be extended for another 30 days for most people.

There was a mis report about tourist visa being good for a 90 day entry which you may have seen in a Pattaya publication. It was not true.

Thanks...any idea about obtaining it in Laos? Either Vietien or Savannaket?

A single entry should be available but if you have a history of Thailand travel it will likely come with a warning in your passport that another may not be available.
