Recommandation for swimming pool builder in Chiangmai

Featured Replies

Hello,

First of all, I want to apologize for my very approximative english, this is not my native language....

Installed in Chiangmai, I plan to make a swimming pool in our house, somewhere between Sansai and Maejo.

I have read some old post about this, and I would like to get some feedback about your experiences with swimming pool provider here in chiangmai, as recently as possible.

We would like to make a 5x10 meters, chlorine free system (salt ?), and low maintenace swimming pool. We are about turning ourselves on a resin-composite swimming ( it looks stronger am I wrong ?).

Well, here we find 4 main builder : JD pools, Siam polls, Desjoyaux and EDAB construstion (http://www.edab-construction.com/).

As I am a total neophyte in swimming pool and in DIY, I would really appreciate anyone who can provide me information about those company, and/or in making a swimming pool in thailand.

Thank you !

Alex

I can't fing their website...do they have one ?

Be very careful about who you select to build your pool. Most local builders only guarantee the structural work for one year and use inferior quality materials and techniques. One of our neighbors' pool is about one year old and has already developed cracks.

We are having our pool built by Siam Pools (owned and managed by John from Australia) with a structural guarantee of 10 years.

Let me know if you need their contact info.

Paul

Hopefully there will be enough water to fill said pool ?...We are entering strange times .

Yes, that is why I try to get advices here. We are in contact with siam pool already. They give us 2 quotation (for salt and ''mineral'' water wich sounds very interesting) . I need to compare the system ( as I really want a low maintenance) and services, then the prices too, but it should not not be the main point I know.

I also get quotation from desjoyaux. More expensive and using vinyl liner, wich many of my friends don't recommand at all (need to change every 10 years).

So I still investigate...

hehe....there is largely 10000000 time more water used for Songkan Festival, don't worry for that.

Ten years ago I had a chlorine Des Joyaux pool installed. In those days it was less than half the price of a conventional pool and took just two weeks with very little hassle and no problems. Since then it's been almost trouble-free and the company's service has been a joy to receive. The vinyl liner is still in good shape, needing only a few bubbles pressed out every six months or so. Haven't even had to have the water changed.

I guess, compared to conventional pools, it's more self-maintaining, although there's always the option of getting a pool guy in once a week or so, just as some people do with a gardener.

Just my own experience...

Yes I already get a quotation from desjoyaux, and know about their high reputation doing the job well and good after-sale services.

But they just don't offer many option with chlorine-free swimming pool. Minerale water is an incredible new step in the modern swimming pool, and I really would like to go through that way if possible.

Then for the maintance, for me, the less is the best, but just because of my incompetence in DIY. Some of us are like this yes....tongue.png ( but I don't get the gardener yet, a matter of time maybe....)
