Hello,

I have read that Users have difficulties to use IPTV with True Cable Modem.

I don't know how extensive that problem is but to make sure I would like to know what are good alternative ISP's to use with IPTV?

3BB is not available to my building so you don't need to mention that. I live in the Khlong Toei area.

Any advice?

Thank you

Have no problem with IPTV and TRUE. ... TRUE being the only option here for past 12 years, been using only IPTV for TV for at least 3 years

Have Kodi + a few direct websites on my PC + Laptop + Android box all work fine, watching Live TV from the UK now via Filmon.com

@ignis

I have ordered a Mag 254 IPTV Box with Kodi and a 1 Year subscription.

You think they will be no problem with my True Cable Modem?

A 1year subscription to what?

Posted

Yes a subscription to what? myself just hunted for everything and never paid anything.

Google is your friend for web addresses for simply loads of free TV stuff + on the web 'How to' set up and run Kodi Free TV from anywhere in the world, or just use a build also free..

So No idea what 'A 1year subscription' is for ? maybe not Kodi ?

Posted

No he's paying for watching tv channels as subscription. But reading other threads about IPTV (not the protocol but the company) they might be a scam and only provide 1 month. But who with the right mind set would hand over a year fee without any security. A decent, but far from perfect solution is Ilikehd. Where you can sample a couple hours for 30 to 50 baht and then subscribe per month.

No it's not IPTV Thailand it's Seganova.tv

The 1 year subscription includes besides the usual channels from UK, Italia, French etc etc German Bundesliga and Sky manny of them in full HD and yes also Porn.

The operating system is Kodi judging from their YouTube videos.

Everything is preloaded. Just plug-in and play.

A better choice might have been ilikeHD, paying a years subscription up front !!

you could have bought an Android box for 2,500 THB or stream from your PC

to Tv as I do,so many channels for 500 THB p.m. no contract, just pay month

to month, stop anytime. and they are testing their new app, which will have EPG,

3 days catch up,and more.

Hope your happy with it........... Guess simple as 'Everything is preloaded. Just plug-in and play'.

I got more TV than I can watch for nothing, yes it was a pain and difficult to begin with + used a old Laptop with broken keys and screen [used a old TV connected to laptop and a old USB keyboard] took many months of messing/playing around before understanding how it all works..

Yes did buy a Android box cost 2,100 baht last year for the main TV, but do all the searching and adding if better on my main PC as use a 32" screen for years as my monitor, for me just a lot easier, then add to a USB stick to transfer to the old Laptop and Android box

My only concern with a subscription, you have paid a lot of money up-front, what if they disappear? site is down for maintenance? server breaks down, it s not working very well?

With my Kodi I did not add a ready made build, just added what I wanted and from a few places, so if there is a problem one day, can just switch and carry on watching the same program from a different source.

To me Seganova.tv seems professional enough to go with a 1 year subscription. That includes the Android Box with a WiFi Adapter and a Remote.

They have a Facebook page where their announce in advance any changes or maintenance. The customer support always answers within 24 hours.

I just have a good feeling with them and do not regret the price I paid (15,500 Baht)

As I said, just plug & play.

But that was not my concern. I just was looking for peoples experiences with IPTV and TRUE Online at home.

No, I doubt it's Kodi. MAG can be configured to pick up Stalker (and other) services, so you'll probably find you have a nice EPG.

I run Stalker on a MAG.

The advantage of a subscription?

Reliability and not having to hunt around.

The MAG can also be used to play media off USB drives or your Network.

And it has VOD as well (does Seganova give you VOD movies?).

Stalker is the name of the server from Infomir at http://www.infomir.eu/ that is used world wide (like apache for web servers) as an IPTV / EPG / Content Server.

Do not be confused with all the Kodi hype of 3Q15 as that was about one such server run on Stalker called "nfps" .. and the name stalker has somehow changed in it meaning. most stalker client boxes are infact Linux based like the mag250/254's not Kodi, but there are emulators and addons for most operating systems..

ever heard of the internet....??

really I am not trying to be smart, but why are people paying money for what is free....?....this box or that box--- if you live in Thailand--90% of the TV programs that you want to watch play when you are asleep, so what's wrong in waking up and downloading whatever programs---(& movies) that you want....a decent VPN will also get you to look at what you want in most countries.

The only time I would consider a box is for sporting programs.

IPTV is so '90s, try e.g. Netflix.

What really torques my crank is that I pay for Netflix in the U.S. But now they have blocked the use of a VPN to access U.S. Netflix, and all that is available is Thailand Netflix. And to be honest, Thailand Netflix sucks.

Believe me, I tried that with AFTVS and Kodi. The streaming links are always dead and if something looks like it is working than it actually stuck on buffering.

I searched the internet and youtube for up to date streams. Add this http and that http and so on... It never works and I am losing it.

I like the idea of plug-in & play. I don't want to search around for weeks on the internet to get this freaking thing to work.

NF works just fine, must be down to your set up (internet) there I suspect as it streams fine here on all I have tested as I showed in the SD above and here below ..

There is no need to pay for any subscription. Www.myblackbox.tv offer a quad core android set top which is a customised, regularly updated and supported KODI variant. New add ons come and go so paying a premium of 2k BHT for a build that is constantly updated is money well spent unless you are a real cheap Charlie. You can access all the sports channels including PPV, all of the latest movies (over 100,000 titles) plus tv series, live tv channels from the uk and us.

Most of the companies offering subscription models are just rebroadcasting streams they pick up for free elsewhere, Black Box just charge a one off payment of 5k and free updates for life. They offer next day delivery in Thailand. Use code thaivisa and discount code BOX1O or send me a DM.

Otherwise Netflix is a good option although somewhat limited for the more expensive films..

Paying 2000 Baht for a build is 2000 Baht wasted, because plenty of decent builds that are constantly updated for free. After all downloading the addons yourself, which are also daily updated, is still the best because you don't want your box overloaded with addons you never use.

Why should I wake up to make a recording. My Live tv with about 350 Channels plays through my PVR on my "box" and I just program it to make the recording while I sleep. Otherwise I just look at one of the plenty addons that offer replay of football games or UFC fights.

Movie addons like Exodus, Primewire or Salts are rarely offline, and never all together at the same time, and they play every movie that I can think about in HD without a single hick up. Live streams from the major sports, entertainment or news channels all play without buffer. And in case one of them buffers I just switch to the next addon. I have altogether about 25 addons on my Android box that I use frequently, and I can watch and listen to exactly everything I can dream up a click on my remote. All free and for nothing.

Which actual builds auto update via a wizard (not just the admins) and are free? I'm not aware of any and with the ever changing landscape it's important not to have a ton of bloatware as you mentioned. Small price to pay not to have to constantly delete, add, test and optimise your build but I guess it's subjective.

Actually every build is supposed to be free, and so is the blackbox build for which you handed 70$, as that is what the Kodi community is about.

Try the Ares wizard, it is a collection of builds, which are all FREE to download. If that isn't enough go to the NoobsandNerds forum and look at the community build section.

Almost every build updates automatically, because a build is only a collection of addons, and a half decent dev will include the repos of the addons in his build, so the build will update every time you start your box.

If you don't like bloatware you sure shouldn't use a build, any build for that matter included blackbox, because 80% of the build will be bloatware.

You should either delete the bloatware by yourself, or make a build of your own which has only the addons you need. But for that you have to know what you're doing, which you have proven already that you don't.

My neighbor tried to get me into Kodi but I just found the whole thing frustrating, I just want to watch British TV. I tried a few options and now use an IPTV provider and just pay monthly through a magbox which works as it should and like someone else said you get all the EPG data and catchup which is what I wanted. I use www.rapidstream.tv and have been happy so far.
