Just got back from Singapore with my new 1 year Non Immigrant Multiple Entry tpye "O" visa.

Got to the Embassy Wednesday with my wife and our luggage at 11:15 am, there were hundreds of people in there coz it was closed Monday and Tuesday ( holidays ). Got my ticket, had over 100 numbers before my number! Thankfully with about 50 numbers to be called before my number and the 12:15 application deadline only 5 mins away, some nice Sri Lankan guy gave me his ticket with the next number, dont know why, but I didnt care. I got to the window, said nothing, just handed the nice lady a stack of doccuments and my original wedding cert, she looked at it and smiled and gave it back to me and said " $220-"

I gave her the money, said "thank you", she said "your very welcome" and then I left.

Next day i returned at 2pm, line of over 150 people even before collecting time, I was about number 20 in line. Went to the window, collected the passport and there it was, a brand new 1 year Non O visa. So the trip was deffinently worth it, and I would reccomend Singapore for anyone wanting to get a 1 year Non O.

The doccuments I gave copies of:

Marriage cert, Marriage doccument from Amphur, Wifes ID, Household, Passport, Letter from her, My birth cert, My passport, 1 photo and $220 SGD.

They say you only need a copy of your marriage cert and the wifes passport there, but by taking my wife with me and giving them plenty of doccuments, they didnt even question my application.

And for a 1 year Non Immigrant "O" - You do not need to show any proof of money, income, nothing at all.

Just to add, my previous 1 year Non O just expired last month, and I got a new one, so it seems to me if you do not qualify for an extension, you can be issued with another 1 year Non O without any hassles ( some embassies will only give you 90 days and question why you did not go for an extension if your privious visa has just expired )

So yeah, anyone after a 1 year Non O, I highly reccomend Singapore.................

Good news.

Believe the requirement normally is marriage certificate and signed copy of wife ID card (many would not have a passport). And having the wife with you removes most doubt of the marriage being real so probably a very good idea during this period of time.

Just looking at the e-mail I got from the embassy staff I recieved before I went there, the only copy that needs to be submitted is a copy of the marriage cert, thats all.

But they more doccuments you give, the more it helps.

What was suprising last night, I arrived in BKK at 11:55pm, so I walked around the terminal to waste about 10 mins. I then went through immigration at about 12:07am on the 28th (today) but the officer stamped me comming on the 27th. Should i have been stamped in on the 28th as I actually passed immigration on the 28th?

I questioned her and like most Thais trying to save face, she said "Just be greatfull you have a Non O"

I just laughed and walked off. But I still thoguht I should of been stamped in todays date as I came in after midnight?

You are not going to win that argument. Your flight came in on the day you got stamped. Remember that visa is only an invitation to the door - immigration has to open that door with the permitted to stay stamp.
