PHUKET: -- Police are currently looking for the owner/s of a company named Royal World Express Co Ltd after a number of minivan and limousine drivers filed complaints against the company with Thalang Police yesterday (Mar 17) accusing the company of fraud after it failed to pay them their monthly service fees.

The drivers say that the money owed to them is in the region of B10 million.

Around 50 Phuket limousine and van drivers, led by Thammarat Maneetrithip and Yenprasit Wanman, went to Thalang Police Station at 10:30am yesterday and filed a complaint with Col Boonlert Onklang asking him to investigate Srisoonthon based Royal World Express Co who controlled work for 115 vans and limousines.

Mr Thammarat said that the company failed to pay them their service fees for February which was due to be paid on Tuesday (Mar 15).

“The owner closed the company’s Line account on Wednesday (Mar 16) and also turned off his telephones. When we went to check the company office in Pa Khlok we found it was closed, as in no longer in business, and realised all 115 drivers had been cheated,” said Mr Thammarat.

Mafia going to the police for help!! I will stop laughing soon.

115 controlled vehicles. Money owed 10 million baht?

Equates to around 86,000 baht per vehicle per month or around 3,000 baht a day on a 29 day month as February was.

However if it was but 50 vehicles involved the figures it get even better. One month 200,000 baht per vehicle, or one (29 day February) month 6,900 baht per vehicle day !!

Great way to make money booking seats or journeys.

Yeah, wonder how much he asked for to pursue this case this time coffee1.gif

Why doesn’t the headline read:

Police hunt Phuket THAI company owner for alleged B10mn fraud?

If it was done by a farrang, they wouldn’t have these sentiments.

I had to go to a dentist yesterday.

It seems that the tooth fairy has rewarded my donation to her collection with this delightful report about van and taxi drivers getting ripped off by a bigger fish and going crying to the police about it.

The only thing that could have improved the story would have been if the police decided to do on-the-spot drug testing for all the complainers!

No money? I hope this reduces the number of minivans in Phuket. Who is going to pay them now? Karma at work.
