NRSA gives progress report to foreign diplomats

BANGKOK, 21 March 2016 (NNT) – The National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) has reported its progress towards the third phase of the country’s Reform Road Map to the Kingdom’s foreign diplomats and international organizations ahead of forwarding its work to the Cabinet.

NRSA Chairman Capt Thinaphan Nakata recently invited the ambassadors and diplomats of 61 nations stationed in Thailand as well as 90 consuls and representatives of international organizations to a second progress report on the assembly’s work as it prepares to enter the third phase of the country’s Reform Road Map.

The NRSA is currently stepping up its work to forward a report on its complete second phase to the Cabinet, which will in turn work to enact all of the NRSA’s recommendations to lead the nation to stability.

So far, the NRSA has approved 18 plans drawn up by its subcommittees, which include reform plans for trade competition, tourism development and the management of water in times of drought. The assembly is to hold a press conference to announce all of its work following the acknowledgment of the foreign diplomats.

Progress?

Yes, plans to get more Chinese, Russian, Indian, Iranian and Belarusian tourists to come here.

As for the drought, yes, all rural communities are to have their government supplied water stopped. (Many communities have had their water permanently stopped last week) Of course cities and golf course are exempt.

As for trade, well not so good. Anybody want to buy some overpriced, ulgy Otop products? No?

Human rights, elections, no progress there, perhaps in 5 years time. Maybe?

Yes, lots of progress in buying tanks, submarines and surface to surface missles.

Okay, no more questions please.

Sounds like another boring day for the diplomats. Perhaps there was a decent lunch.

Not necessarily! I would have loved to have my ear on the wall for that meeting. I could use a good laugh today.

Perhaps the buffet from yesterdays news. Shrimp anyone?

Why do they feel it is necessary to give a progress report. Do they think anyone really cares ?

The Thai economy is still in the trash and will be until they have a real Elected Government.

Even Burma has a real elected government now.

The Thai economy is still in the trash and will be until they have a real Elected Government.

Even Burma has a real elected government now.

Because they are desperate to be treated like a "real elected government".

The trouble is, no matter how many briefings, seminars and progress reports they stage, everyone realizes that they are still a military junta which seized power in a coup, pre-empting a free election in the process

Sad really.
