More than 500 cases of unlicensed and expired coffee and tea products from Vietnam were confiscated by the Anti-Economic Crimes Department in Dangkor commune, Dangkor district on Tuesday morning, according to Colonel Touch Rithea, Chief of the Intellectual Property Crime Bureau at the Ministry of Interior.

He added that more than 1,000 bottles of unlicensed sauces and wines were also found. Two Vietnamese nationals, a 23-year-old man named Huynh Duy Linh and an unnamed woman, were arrested during the crackdown.

“These unlicensed goods were imported from Vietnam. They were expired products but the shop owners stuck valid stickers over the expiration dates and tried to sell them here in Cambodia,” Col. Rithea told reporters yesterday. “They planned to distribute and sell these expired products to the markets and places through out the country. It was lucky that our competent police have cracked down them and confiscated them in time.”
