Fellas, this is simply one of those things that Have To Be Said at such a time. It really isn't worth getting hot under the collar about.

Like talking, only talking, about road safety at Songkran and New Year !

One again though officials have to be ' urged ' to do their job

Corruption, and the resulting incompetence of 'officials' who buy their positions, will be the ultimate downfall of Thailand.

Thailand / Siam has been corrupt and around for a very long time.

It's not "where you came from", but I do not see an abrupt end any time in the near future.

Can you name me one country in the world that is not corrupt?

Some are better at hiding it or denying it than others, but they all are corrupt.

I find it refreshing that Thailand is so open and honest about how dishonest it is!wai2.gif

Try offering tea money to the fuzz in the UK, then send me the address of which HM Prison you are residing at so that I can write and remind you of the load of blx that was your last post.

Tea money is no longer accepted where I come from ( USA ) either, but when I was a child, it was common for people to keep a $50 dollar bill ( a lot of money then ) behind your drivers license to avoid getting speeding tickets.

Now a law enforcement job is a pretty good living and most would never risk losin the job for a little extra cash.

Seriously, tea money is small potatoes when it comes to the big money spent on real corruption.

Consider the millions paid to politicians by corporations to have laws favorable to corporations passed, and to avoid paying taxes.

That's real corruption, and it is way too common..

Despite decades of trying and full military presence, they cant stop them coming across the southern border, how in hell do they expect the same "highly trained immigration professionals" to ever catch a few random terrorists crossing Thai borders.

In the same way that "highly trained immigration professionals" prevent terrorists entering Europe, the UK and the USA ?

Yes, by welcoming them with open arms and giving them free accommodation, food, money and healthcare... Anyways, you need to be doing something so you will not be called a racist whistling.gif ...

the Royal Thai Police have called for the integration of intelligence on tourist information

In maths, integration is effectively the adding together of many tiny pieces.

So the RTP are intending to add together the many tiny intelligences that pervade the Thai Government system. Good luck with that, let us know when it comes up with something useful.

The Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau has urged all jurisdictions to strictly inspect those traveling in and out of Thailand.

Amusing Thailand... where officials constantly need to (PUBLICLY) tell their government employees to actually do their jobs. Another day, another crackdown.

If they are not told to "strictly inspect" then what do they normally do?

Worked a treat before the Erawan Shrine bombings and the following cluster**** of an 'investigation' not to mention the constant troubles in the South....where do they find these idiot 'officials' who clearly can't do their jobs?

Look around you, there everywhere.

Can't ever fix that problem.

make your own sentence,,, horse, stable door,,bolted, no kickbacks, possibly, are,,, incompetent,, mind you could be talking about any western government as well.

Thais have 1,000s of miles of borders so impossible to police, make not carrying ID more serious but allow photocopies to be carried as long as you can produce originals when escorted to place of residence,,if you cannot lock em up until they produce or are found to be illegal if illegal tough sh@t
