Prime Minister Hun Sen has asked China to import more agricultural products from Cambodia to boost bilateral trade and strengthen the relationship between the two countries. The prime minister wants to boost bilateral trade to $5 billion by 2017. On the sidelines of the Langchang-Mekong Cooperation Leaders Meeting in China, the prime minister asked his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang to import more Cambodian agricultural products without quota limitations, according to a special report aired on TVK television.

Mr. Hun Sen also asked his counterpart to get more investors from China in Cambodia’s agricultural sector to send imports to China or to other countries. China now imports milled rice from Cambodia under a quota of 100,000 tons per year.
