PATTAYA: At 8:30 am on Saturday 26th of March flames and clouds of smoke were still seen pouring from the back storage area of the Family Mart located on Phettrakul Road.

Miss Chonnapa an 18 year old employee of the store said, while working in the shop along with two other colleagues she noticed flames and smoke pouring out of the back storage room. The group fled from the store and called fire officials.

Despite the store being fitted with a sprinkler system it still took over thirty hours and the use of five fire trucks to contain the blaze.

At the scene where is a grocery which was being on severe fire the officers had to use 5 fire trucks to extinguish the fire for half an hour. Upon inspection the cause of fire was the storeroom which had electrical controller.

Or common sense. There is a correction at the bottom of the artlcle that says maybe they got it wrong and have blamed it on the original Thai language report.

The fire started Sunday morning, so if true, it should be out about tomorrow lunch time.

30 hours ..... wow ! that's some fire ..... blink.png

staff need to be careful smoking in the storeroom .....

Pattaya is a smoking hot destination with many tourist dying to get there, or dying once they arrive. You could say the last trip of their lifetime.

Hilarious story. cheesy.gif

Fire 21st Feb.

5 weeks to refurb.

2 days later, Bob's your Uncle another fire.

30 hours + 5 fire-trucks to extinguish.

Unreal.

Infact, unbelievable !!

Analyzing this abit further, 1 fire-fighting crew per truck could do a maximum shift of 5 hours, therefore each truck would need at least 3 crews. Multiplied by 5 trucks, equals 15 fire-fighting crews.
