PATTAYA -- Five men pretending to be with The Food and Drug Administration scammed local shops in Pattaya out of money.

On March 28th, 29 year old Ms. Rungnapha and 21 year old Ms. Chanthakan filed a complaint with the Food and Drug Administration Department in Damrongtham, Banglamung, claiming that they were scammed out of 50,000 baht.

They reported that on the night of March 24th, Five men entered their shop dressed in red striped T shirts with a logo on it that said Officials for The Food and Drug Administration Region 2.

The men told them that they were there to inspect the shop to make sure that all of their products had labels on them. They pointed out some items that did not have labels and that they can be fined up to 300, 000 baht if prosecuted.

I certainly don't see any logo on the guys shirt.

Where are the fake police to arrest the fake officials when you need them?

Well everything else is fake. Why not.

You mean if they were real officials they would not be conducting scams?

It's their own fault for paying bribes, resist as Prayut say's. Could this case possibly mean that they were used to paying bribes and didn't find it unusual?

Where can i buy a logo for my shirt.

......are they shop owners or employees....

...50,000 baht....???

....based on a logo on a t-shirt.....

...does it really make sense....???

Maybe day out to show the office service manager .

We can get our own tea money.

And its better than your cheap coffee.Sir

Who writes the crap headlines? The text of the report centres on a single shop. What other shops were scammed?

It might help to read the Pattaya One article before commenting.

'Six shops were scammed out of 50, 000 baht each by the same group of men. The men are still at large.'

So were the fake scammers of the real scammers rely scamming or were the stores scamming the bib about being scammed so that the bib could not scam them out of any money the shops said they lost in the scamming scams.

Oh great corrector of English why don't you go to work as the editor of TV?

So, they ended up paying a bribe to the wrong people, what to do now, call the police?

"Fake" is all around us.

Seems to be part of the culture.

So whether we have "Fake" bags, "Fake" designer shirts, "Fake" watches, or "Fake" officials, does it really matter ?

So, they ended up paying a bribe to the wrong people, what to do now, call the police?

yes but make sure they are real and then pay them some money to start working on the case

Fakes are everywhere. Why didn't they demand to see some credentials?

The navy are coming to sort this type of thing out according to AD

Only pay bribes to reputable, confirmed government officials.

And the shop just handed over 50,000 on the basis of a T-Shirt logo. Duh!

I don't understand why That staff(owner of the shops can be so stupid that thy pay 50k cash to some individuals without any form of credentials. Is this the standard here? As an owner I would refuse and call the police. What is the worst thing that could happen ? I'd rather bribe the police for arresting the fake officials than give them anything in the first place.

Just stupidity , they can only blame themselves.

And the shop just handed over 50,000 on the basis of a T-Shirt logo. Duh!

Had they worn khaki uniforms festooned with colorful ribbons and para jump wings, they coulda got 100k.

"Upon further investigation and reviewing CCTV footage, it was concluded that they were not legitimate government officials."

If they'd been legitimate government officials then all would be well I suppose.
